Q. Why has Radar Rob limited himself to only selling certain radar detectors and scramblers. Other online stores sell everything under the sun?

A. Radar Rob only sells what works and what he has personal confidence in. If there were other scramblers that worked or detectors that  were as effective and reasonably priced, Radar Rob would offer them as well. Besides RMR products are American made. I Like that.

Q. I noticed reference to The Tipmra, what is it and what is Radar Rob's affiliation?

A. The Tipmra is a speeding ticket defense strategy that has been proven. If you have a speeding ticket and want to fight it, use The Tipmra. The Tipmra was developed and refined over a 32 year period. Defending a ticket is not the same as not getting one in the first place. Radar Rob has had many tickets and now uses the RMR-C302 Viper to keep the Fat Ones from giving him any more. The coveted Tipmra, which costs $29.95 comes FREE with every Radar Rob product.
(some people are here because they have a ticket, they still have to fight it. For those that don't have a ticket and buy a radar jammer, you won't need "The Tipmra".

Q. I have read at one site that the Rocky Mountain Radar failed in tests conducted by Speed Measuring Labs inc.. What gives?

A. This bothered me as well until I researched it. First I tried to find  Speed Measuring Labs inc. in Dun & Bradstreet and the Tomas registry. They are not listed. Then I talked with Betty at RMR who told me these guys tried to shake them down. That is if RMR gave them money they would give a glowing report. I went further and ordered their tape "The Speeding Trap".  I do know something about speeding, radar, laser and speeding defenses, this tape was absolute rubbish, poorly composed and basically showed that these guys are a bunch of clowns.

The Rocky Mountain scramblers work and work well. Radar Rob has tested them himself with friends from the local police department. Yes there is a jealousy out there and competitors don't always play fair.

Q. I read and hear about "punch through" what is that?

A. Punch through is when the the cops laser or radar beam is strong enough to overcome the reflected scrambled beam from a scrambler. He can now read your speed. Depending on the unit used "punch through" with the Rocky Mountain units will be between 50 to 200 feet. If you are not slowed down by then, he can read your speed.

Q. I hear about active jammers, what are they and how are they different?

A. Active jammers transmit a false signal. They are illegal everywhere and do not comply with FCC regulations. They are easy to detect by police and using one will most often result in the user being pulled over and given a fat juicy fine.

Q. Ok then what type of Jammer is the Rocky Mountain Radar.

A. It is reflective receiver. It takes the beam sent from the radar gun and inserts a FM chirp giving the effect of a false return. Remember for the radar gun to read a speed it requires eight consecutive returns that have to agree. The reflected "chirp give a reading of 15 mph and the next reading at 350 mph. The radar guns computer takes this a a 'falsing sensing" and registers no speed.

Q. Wouldn't the cop be suspicious when he gets no reading from your car?

A. Not at all. Remember articles where police radar guns recorded trees traveling at 100 mph. There are many things that can cause a false reading, cosign error, refraction error, even the frequency set up by his own radiator fan can cause a false reading. A simple wind shift causing a road sign to vibrate will cause a false reading. To try and compensate for these problems all radar guns incorporate a sampling computer. On the average the cop will get a legitimate false reading every 20 cars.

Radar Rob has been fighting speeding tickets for over 32 years. Preventing a speeding ticket is far better then fighting one. The sad facts are that even if you always drive the speed limit, there is a ticket waiting for you around the next corner. Cops are not always honest and their radar guns are not always calibrated correctly. Very few cops actually do a proper site check or radar calibration before setting up their trap. Yes even the non speeders get tickets.
