Radar detectors available on the market

To be truthful, other then price there is very little difference other then acquisition time. They all make fantastic claims.  You probably would not notice the detection difference between a $100 detector and a $500 detector other then the features, whistles and bells. Cloaking is a different kettle of fish and only the RMR Detectors cloak both VG2 and VG3. Acquisition time and range are both important! Most Radar used today is "POP" where the gun is not turned on until you are sighted. Radar detectors take precious time to acquire and identify the signal. In that time you could have been applying your breaks and slowing down (with a RMR unit). (The cops radar unit will not give a speed when you are slowing down. This is because of the falsing computer requires 8 to 12 consecutive pulses agreeing with each other. The moment you speed is stabilized again a reading will occur. He will get intermittent unusable readings while you are slowing down)
